California Fundraising Registration Requirements
California law requires that charitable organizations and institutions that solicit contributions in or from this state register with the Attorney General’s Office. The California law governing charity registration is found in Cal. Corp. Code Sec. 17510-17510.95; Cal. Govt Codes Sec. 12580-12599.7; Cal. Code of Regulations, Title 11 Sec. 300-310, 991.1-999.4.

Initial Filing Fee: Sliding scale fee from $25 up to $300.
Requirements: Governing Documents and IRS Form 1023
Annual Renewal: Yes
Annual Renewal Fee: Sliding scale fee from $25 up to $300.
Extension Available: Automatic
Does charitable registration require Corporate Registration: No
Does charitable registration require a Registered Agent: No
Alaska offers Educational, Hospital and Religious Exemptions.
