South Carolina Fundraising Registration Requirements
South Carolina law requires that charitable organizations and institutions that solicit contributions in or from this state register with the Secretary of State. The South Carolina law governing charity registration is found in South Carolina Uniform Code Title 33, Ch. 31 and 56.
To register in South Carolina:
Complete the Registration Statement for a Charitable Organization and mail to:

Requirements: Governing Documents and IRS Form 990
Annual Renewal: Yes
Annual Renewal Fee: $50
Extension Available: An extension is available for allowing additional time to file the IRS Form 990 with the state, but South Carolina does not grant extensions for filing the state registration form.
Does charitable registration require Corporate Registration: No
Does charitable registration require a Registered Agent: No
