The IRS Form 990-PF
The IRS Form 990-PF is the form filed by all private foundations regardless of the organization’s size. It is used both to report activities, charitable distributions, and finances of the Private Foundation.
Along with 501(c)(3) Private Foundations, the IRS Form 990-PF can also be filed as an income tax filing for nonexempt charitable trusts.
The IRS Form 990-PF is an annual filing due 4.5 months after an organization’s fiscal year end. So the due date for a December year end organization would be May 15. This due date can be extended 6 months using IRS Form 8868. The IRS Form 990-PF can be e-filed.
