New York Changes Extension Process

New York has changed their extension process such that a single extension can be requested that can give the nonprofit 180 additional days to submit their registration with the state. This can be useful if the organization’s IRS Form 990 or audited financial statements have not yet been completed for the period being reported. While the new extension request process simplifies things, New York does have strict requirements on the format of the extension request.
